Grant Johns Remedial Massage Therapist South Yarra has been practising for over 15 years.
His clinical experience is diverse, having worked with Richmond Football Club (AFL), South Melbourne Football (VPL), Endeavour College of Natural Health and within various multi-modality clinical settings.
In 2007, a debilitating hip injury sparked the career change to remedial massage therapy, with the aim of treating individuals who find themselves in similar circumstances. Grant takes pride in showing genuine care and empathy for the individual, and strives to provide a clear pathway to full function and pain free living.
Clinical Interests
Over his career, Grant has treated individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including: clients with chronic pain, professional athletes, weekend warriors and office workers. Grant values the opportunity to build relationships with a broad range of individuals and strives to enable his clients to live without the restriction of persistent pain.
As a result of his history, Grant finds great reward in treating chronic hip conditions. In addition, complex neck, shoulder and lower back dysfunctions are Grant’s specialities.
Grant’s treatment consists of an assessment to ascertain the cause of your pain. The majority of the treatment is targeted manual therapy with the intention of relieving pain and restriction. The session concludes with a plan moving forward, including rehabilitative exercises to maintain function.
Outside of the clinic Grant enjoys spending time with his family and their dog Mila.
He plays guitar and drums, can almost always be found with a coffee in hand, and is a Western Bulldogs tragic.
Treatment Style: Gentle, Medium, Firm, Extra Firm.
