Our favourite Apps for health and wellness

Technology these days means we are seldom separated from our mobile phones. Whilst this may not be the best thing for our overall health and stress levels, we may be able to use this to our advantage.

Here are some of our favourite new health and wellbeing Apps

1GiantMind

A great relaxation and mindfulness App. I have reviewed a few of these in the past but I like this one particularly due to its Aussie accent. You can set the time you would like to meditate for and also choose from a selection of background sounds. The audio isn’t too imposing. It allows time for reflection whilst also guiding you. It also has a “learn to meditate” section for beginners. Read our blog posts on mindfulness and stress management for some more useful information relaxation and breathing techniques.

Available for iPhone and Android

The Whole Pantry

This App has a lovely mixture of wholefood recipes combined with lifestyle and wellness guides. I particularly like the recipes and also the recommended resources section that links to lots of great blogs, websites and books.

Available for iPhone/iPad and Android

Fitness First

This is a great App which gives you access to the latest magazine from Fitness First. This is a fitness mag aimed at gym goers with interesting tips on working out, recipes and other lifestyle topics. Great for some motivation over winter!

Available for iPhone and iPad only.
